The installation of a fixed dental bridge is normally completed in three appointments. At the first appointment, the dentist takes study models and X-rays. The purpose of this procedure is to analyze the teeth in depth.<\/p>

At the next visit, the dentist will precisely trim the abutment teeth adjacent to the toothless space. He will then take a series of impressions of the filed teeth. These will be sent to the dental laboratory so that a technician can custom-manufacture the prosthetic piece. The artificial tooth and the abutments will form a single solid and retentive block.<\/p>

While waiting for the final bridge, the dentist will place a temporary acrylic bridge to protect the filed teeth. At the last visit, the dentist will remove the temporary bridge and cement the final fixed bridge to the prepared teeth.
